As part of the Chocolate Boutique Getaway this year, we would like to encourage attendees, if you are so inclined, to bring donations for two of our United Methodist philanthropies, Cunningham Children's Home and Leslie Bates. Here are a few of the items that are on the "wish lists" of each:
Arts & crafts: car and airplane models, scrap booking supplies, fuzzy posters, kits (craft, bead, sewing, latch hook), paper, markers, crayons, glue, scissors, sketch books, small pencil boxes, acrylic paints
Personal hygiene items: Paddle brushes, shampoo adn conditioner for boys, African American hair care products (Gold Magic, Cream of Nature, Pink, Softee, Ampro, Royal Crown brands), solid deodorant, sanitary napkins/tampons, toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, washcloths, body lotion, hair picks, combs, men's cologne, hair gel, large barrel curling irons, q-tips/cotton balls
Our retreat takes place at the Chateau Hotel in Bloomington. We've attached a map in case you need directions. You can check into the hotel on Friday, September 19th between 4-6 pm and register for the Getaway during this time as well. The Getaway will begin at 6:00pm with a scrumptious dessert buffet (with sugar free selections as well), so please eat dinner prior. There are many places in the area to grab a bite if you'd prefer to do so while in town. We’ve listed some restaurants close in proximity to the hotel. We will finish our getaway on Saturday, September 20th at 3:30pm.
We'll be very relaxed and casual, so wear comfortable clothing. If you'd like, you can bring along snacks to share with your roommates. (Microwaves and refrigerators are available in rooms!) Remember to pack your swimming suit if you’d like to swim and any toiletries you might need as well.
